Spammers target old posts in a hope that you won’t notice the comments on them. Why not stop them in their tracks by just shutting off comments and pingbacks? Auto-Close Comments, Pingbacks and Trackbacks let’s you automatically close comments, pingbacks and trackbacks on your posts, pages and custom post types. You can also choose to keep comments / pingbacks / trackbacks open on certain posts, page or custom post types. Just enter a comma-separated list of post IDs in the Settings page. An extra feature is the ability to delete post revisions that were introduced in WordPress v2.6 onwards. Close pingbacks and trackbacks: Automatically close pingbacks and trackbacks as well Choose how old: Choose a custom time period as to when the comments, pingbacks and trackbacks need to be closed Scheduling: You can also schedule a cron job to automatically close comments, pingbacks and trackbacks daily Bonus: Delete post revisions, pingbacks and trackbacks

All the plugins are tested on the same server with exactly same configuration via test script that automatically activates and logs the data WP Hive shows.

  • All the scripts run on a VPS with 8 CPU cores and 8 GB of RAM.
  • The test sites are hosted on Google Cloud VM instances, one site/plugin per instance. The machine type is n1-standard-1. The server is a 8 core CPU with 8GB of RAM.
  • The test sites are hosted on Apache/2 server and they are tested on PHP 7.2.16 & WordPress 5.4.1.
  • The database server is MySQL 8.0.15 and the default PHP memory limit is 256MB.
